Met a friend in the bar area. The waiter was exceptional, attention wise and patience wise. The Margarita was huge. I ordered an enchilada plate that was very good. The prices seemed a tiny bit high, the food was good. We had chips and salsa. I'll go back but don't know when.

After having visited family in Modesto, we were again going to visit for some lunch before heading north to Sacramento. We had sometime to kill before the family lunch date and after filling up the rental car right next door, decided to stop in Javi's for a quick margarita.
Given the quick plan, we sat at the bar and were served by a very nice gentleman. We were given some delicious chips and salsa, and I ordered a Cadillac margarita. MM ordered up a strawberry house margarita.
Both drinks were delicious and the house margarita was discounted under a lunch special.

We reserved Javi's for dinner for 12 to celebrate. The reservation was set for 7pm and I came thirty minutes early to make sure it was all ready to go. They had the table ready for us and let us sit there even before our reservation. The service was excellent! Leslie had drinks and appetizers out promptly and keep all of us satisfied. I recommend the Cadillac margarita! We even moved seats and she knew where to put our dinners. I had the chicken milanese, yum. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food and had a great time. Thanks for making the dinner party a success!

First, it's cute that Javi's thinks that this is $52 worth of food. (see pic)But I'll get back to that later-
If you are from the Bay, and have made a "valley visit", you've passed the Javi's sign a gazillion times. So I finally decided to stop and try it. Nope- not interested in doing that again.
SOME of the food wasnt THAT bad, but.....
Cheese enchiladas with mole- The mole here is actually bomb. Good flavor, nice spice. BUT- they didn't give me my rice and beans that I'm pretty sure were included in the meal. I mean, for $13.99 they SHOULD be there! *i had some of hubs and they were kinda gross. So whatevs*
El Pastor Burrito- The hubs said this was really good, until he started spitting out pieces of meat that were all hard grizzle. *gag-I just barfed a little*
Appetizer sampler- good,average, no complaints.
The price is ridiculous for you get. Especially when you are missing items, choking on grizzle, etc.
Don't stop when you see the sign. Keep driving.
